# Diverge

## What is diverging

Diverging means closing a Position to repay it with USV, receiving JitoSOL.

## Benefits of using JitoSOL as collateral

As an interest-bearing collateral, the value of JitoSOL increases by \~8% per year. In other words, users not only benefit from capitalizing on the price changes of the SOL they hold, but they can also staking yield when the Position is opened. \

The Convergent Protocol takes 0 haircut on the staking yield from Jito and users can fully realize their gains when they unstake their JitoSOL.
